What if I lose my boarding pass?
Losing the boarding pass
Here is what to do if losing the boarding pass – please just print it again. It’s a good idea to always have a coupon remembered on your mobile phone (picture and document). It is very important that the bar code is clear on the phone so that it can be read easily when boarding an aircraft.
The airplane boarding pass is very important and you must take care of it. At the airport, you show the card several times on the way from passport control (a border police officer, along with passport); when leaving the gate (airline officer); to boarding (flight attendants).
The boarding map contains the following information:
- name of the passenger
- reservation code
- electronic ticket number
- the number of gates when boarding the plane
- the number of a seat
- travel class
- the airline you fly trough
- a bar code that is read when boarding the plane
Extra charges if you lose your boarding pass
Losing a boarding ticket if you fly a low-cost company can be an additional expense. Some airlines (Ryanair, etc.) require you to have a coupon in print. If you don’t have a printed card, they can charge you up to 70€ at the airport.
Therefore, we advise you to additionally check that you have the coupon registered on your mobile phone or keep it safe if you got it at the airport counter.
If you receive a paper boarding card, take a picture of it and have an electronic version on your phone.
