Each airline has their own regulations regarding the weight of baggage, depending on the class you’re flying in. Some companies only allow hand baggage, and, on the other side, some airlines (depending on travel class) also allow you to carry two bags for free.

That is why it is very important to pay attention to what is written on the ticket. Ensure that you are well informed on the baggage weight limitations and what is included in the price of the ticket.

What is considered as extra baggage?

If your bag is larger or heavier than allowed, it is likely that you will be charged extra at the airport. For some airlines, compensation is paid per kilogram (over the weight limit). It may be cheaper for you to pay for an extra suitcase than to pay extra per kilogram.

Price for extra baggage

Each airline has its own price and regulations for how much baggage a passenger can carry with them (free + extra).

Air Serbia, for example, allows a passenger to buy up to five pieces of extra baggage. The price of an extra bag ranges from 40€ to 60€, depending on the time and the place of the purchase (the price is the highest at the airport).
