To avoid crowds and unnecessary frustration, our recommendation is to stay at the airport for a minimum of 90 minutes before the flight itself, for regional and European flights. Overseas flights need to arrive two hours early.
Some European airports: Malpensa in Milan, JFK in New York, Charles de Gaulle in Paris, require arriving at the airport early to avoid huge crowds and delays.
When you check, you hand over a passport and an electronic ticket to the counter. If you have a card for a loyalty program, you should also emphasize in order to enroll in miles. Also, you report what you have with your luggage. Hand luggage is marked with special straps. Put the luggage in the lane where the weight is measured. If the bag is heavier than the regulations, it may happen that they charge you excess luggage.
After the check-in at the counter is completed, you are given a boarding ticket to board the plane. It is very important to save and show it on the gate, otherwise, you will not be accepted on the flight.
